6-31-2011 ALERT UPDATE: Issuance of the Demand letters is temporarily suspended - Review of the Rights and Responsibilities letter is completeThe Demand letter for liability insurance (including self-insurance), no-fault insurance and workers’ compensation has been temporarily suspended while this letter is under review. The MSPRC is still working cases, and Demand letters will be mailed out once this review is complete. Review of the Rights and Responsibilities letter (“RAR”) is complete. Issuance of the RAR is anticipated to resume on June 10, 2011. A copy of the revised RAR will be made available by that time on this website.

A copy of the User Guide is available here. 2-16-2010 CMS advises all NGHP RREs the date for first production of NGHP Input Files is changed from April 1, 2010 to January 1, 2011, effective immediately.
8-4-09 NGHP User Manual Version 2 Released The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Non-Group Health Plan (NGHP) User Guide Version 2. A copy of the User Guide is available here. 7-31-09 In addition to the recent publication of the NGHP User Guide, CMS recently released an Alert. This alert is a draft document, available for public comment, which provides additional detail regarding who/what entity is a MMSEA Section 111 Responsible Reporting Entity (RRE). The alert is available here. 7-23-09 CMS to Offer Web Portal for MSA Cases In an effort to streamline the MSA process, CMS is attempting to offer a web-based portal by calendar year 2010. A copy is avaiable here. 2-10-09 CMS Releases "Introduction to Section 111 Mandatory Medicare Secondary Payer Reporting" Document On February 10, 2009 CMS released a document entitled Introduction to Section 111 Mandatory Secondary Payer Reporting in regard to its continued implementation of Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid & SCHIP Extension Act (MMSEA). The document provides basic background information regarding the Medicare program, the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute (MSP) and Section 111 of the MMSEA. CMS states that the purpose of the document is to address certain questions and issues "for those who are not familiar with the legislation, or how the legislation may affect them." CMS Provides Updated Interim Record Layout Information Regarding Mandatory Insurer Reporting CMS has released an updated version of its Interim Record Layout for Liability Insurance (including Self-Insurance), No-Fault Insurance and Workers' Compensation on its Mandatory Insurer website. It provides information regarding the file layouts that will be used by entities responsible for complying with the reporting requirements at 42 U.S.C 1395y(b)(8).
